Settled within the storybook village of Pitve, Villa Erebus D is a 15th-century stone house gracefully reborn in 2024. It belongs to a quartet of villas that deliberately slow time, embellished by a landscape that speaks thoughtfully through vistas of olive groves and vineyards.
Villa Features
This respectfully restored haven offers 300m² of indoor serenity, surrounded by 100m² of Mediterranean terraces and a heated pool cradled by stone.
Designed for up to ten guests, the villa unfolds across three spacious floors. There are four bedrooms – each with its ensuite bathroom – and a convertible queen-size sofa bed in the elegant living room. Exposed stone, reclaimed wood beams and ceramic flooring nod to the villa’s layered past, while Starlink internet, an HD home cinema and a fully equipped gym meet every modern expectation.
On the top floor, the master suite opens onto a quaint rooftop terrace, while a second bedroom features a queen-sized bed. Back on the first floor, another bedroom mimics the master and looks out onto the terrace and stone-wrapped pool. The fourth bedroom is a self-contained suite on the pool terrace level with a private entrance and internal staircase connecting its bathroom and king-size bedroom.
The heart of the home lies in its cool stone basement: a dark wood kitchen, indoor dining area, second alfresco terrace with a BBQ and even a shared courtyard garden that feeds you, an inviting place to gather after long days exploring the nearby town of Jelsa or the island’s northern and southern beaches. This is where you’ll also find the villa’s wellness wing, featuring a sauna, fitness studio and games room.
Villa Erebus D is one of four restored homes in this courtyard collection – Triton A, Typhon B, Tartarus C and Erebus D - each a sibling in stone. The spirit of this place is quiet yet undeniably memorable: a retreat carved from rock, rooted in heritage and brought back to life by the hands of a local couple.

Owner's Comment:
What we love most about this villa is the abundance of space – every room is generously sized, offering a real sense of comfort and freedom. But if we had to choose a favourite feature, it would be the pool. Tucked away between centuries-old stone walls and surrounded by nature, it feels like a hidden oasis.
Majda's Comment:
This is a brilliant, romantic and rustic Mediterranean complex of four stone villas, each one private yet together able to host up to 26 guests with three pools. It’s a truly extraordinary place on Hvar; there’s nothing quite like it for groups of this size. Personally, Villa Erebus D is my favourite of the four. As a detail lover through and through, I love the charming little details you’ll find all over. The sauna and gym are excellent additions and I really enjoy how the spaces are spread out yet still feel interconnected, like a beautiful maze. This is the Hvar of old – and that hidden pool between the stone walls? It’s 100% Instagram-worthy. The whole concept truly speaks to my heart.
Dalibor's Comment:
If you book Villa Erebus D, you’ll have some of Hvar’s hidden treasures a short walk away, like Dvor Duboković, one of the best traditional restaurants on the island. Just minutes away, there’s also the Viticulture Museum, where you can learn about the island’s hardworking winegrowers and their heritage and Marijan Winery, which offers an excellent tasting experience. Pitve is also the perfect starting point for scenic hikes. One of the most beautiful paths leads to St. Anthony’s Chapel above Zavala, built by Niko Duboković Nadalini. The view from up there is spectacular.
