Cottage Features
Calleis is a small town oasis, located amidst the greenery of the Mediterranean flora, and only a 10-minute walk from the center of Stari Grad.
A traditional Dalmatian stone cottage was built in 2008, and finally completed and perfected in 2013.
The entire estate spreads over 8000 square meters. The cottage covers 77 square meters with another 20 square meters of gallery space. The house is surrounded by 150 square meters of open terrace, with the covered terrace in front of the house spreading over another 25 square meters. There is also an outside pool of 24 square meters.
The access to the house is almost private: 100 meters of unpaved road that disconnects from the main road and leads to Calleis.
Cottage Calleis has a ground floor and an open gallery with the minimum ceiling height of 1 meter.
A small garden staircase leads you to the covered terrace that you reach through the enterance to the house. You directly enter the spacious air conditioned ground floor with a kitchen, a dining room and a living room. The kitchen is fully equipped; there is also a dining table for four, a sofa, an LCD SAT TV and a DVD player.
The ground floor also has a bedroom with a matrimonial bed, air condition and an en suite bathroom with a shower unit. There is another separate bathroom with a shower unit on the ground floor as well.
A wooden staircase leads from the ground floor to the charming open gallery with the second bedroom with twin beds.
The rustic Calleis is built from natural materials: it abounds in stone, wood, cozy Mediterranean details, creating a lovely atmosphere typical of traditional Mediterranean houses. Easy going and kind owners have decorated this beautiful estate with plenty of care and love, which can easily be noticed in every corner of the exterior and the interior.
Calleis abounds in peace and tranquility that only nature can provide. You exit the house to a covered terrace with a large dining table and a smaller one for afternoon tea. An open terrace with a big stone fireplace extends to the covered terrace in the back of the house. Next to the terrace there is a stone staircase lined with Mediterranean plants that guides you to the pool area and a spacious sundeck with a garden set of table and chairs and wooden deck chairs for sunbathing and chilling next to the pool. The terrace also has an outside stone shower.
All the terraces are paved in beautiful stone, which adds to the warmth of the exterior, and they are lined with traditional stonewalls typical of Dalmatian estates.
The estate extends beyond the stone terraces, doused in scents and colors of Dalmatia, olives, figs, pine trees and cypresses and thick wild Dalmatian vegetation.
Calleis will be equally ideal for a family, a romantic couple and a group of friends. We recommend it to all lovers of peaceful places within the reach of civilization, to lovers of nature and everyone who prefers a blend of tradition and luxury accessories.
Stari Grad is about a 10-minute walk away, the first beach about a 20-minute walk away, and you can reach the town of Hvar in about a 20-minute drive.
